Written by Richard Lamont Pierce Zuhairah McGill portrays Sojourner Truth, sharing the stories and experiences of the abolitionist, women's rights activist, and author. The play explores Truth's life, including her enslavement in the North, her dramatic escape, and her fight against slavery. It also delves into her interactions with historical figures like Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. A wonderful family show! No age restriction. SACCO & VANZETTI: A TRAGEDIA DELL' ARTE
Written and Directed by John Bellomo In 1919, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, two Italian immigrants and anarchists, were arrested on suspicion of robbing a shoe factory and murdering the paymaster and a guard. Their trial and subsequent executions sparked worldwide protests due to concerns about bias against the defendants based on their political beliefs and immigrant status. Through the lens of commedia dell’arte, Sacco and Vanzetti: A Tragedia dell ’Arte, will highlight the absurdity of the case while being a comic foil for the tragic events of Sacco’s and Vanzetti’s lives.
