Curio Theatre School Teachers
Gay Carducci has been Education Director at Curio Theatre since its beginning. Prior to that she was Director of Education at Hedgerow Theatre for 6 years and taught there for 14 years. She helped spear head Curio’s outreach program in area schools such as the Lea School, Spruce Hill Christian Academy, and the Shaw school. She taught at a branch of the Beacon project at St. Francis DeSalles, something which she hopes to broaden. She also has been teaching drama at Media Providence Friend’s School for many years, directing their school play.
Aetna Gallagher has been a professional actor, costume designer and teacher for over 15 years. Aetna received her acting training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has worked with many Canadian theatre companies and helped to establish the Ship’s Company Theatre’s summer theatre program for children. She also has taught acting with Hedgerow Theatre in Pennsylvania for many years. As well as teaching for Curio regularly for seven years, she is now teaching improv at Media Providence Friend’s School and works regularly at the Lea Elementary School and Spruce Hill Christian School in Philadelphia.
Paul Kuhn is Artist Director of Curio Theatre Company. A graduate from the Dalhousie University Theatre Program, Paul has worked professionally as an actor in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and in many Philadelphia area theatre's. Paul has been teaching for over 15 years starting at Hedgerow Theatre, The Lawrenceville School, Curio theatre School, The Lea Elementary School and Spruce Hill Christian School.
Eric Scotolati is a recent West Chester graduate with a Bachelor's degree in performance. Eric had a wonderful first experience teaching with the Curio Theater Company's summer camp for kids. Eric is a local Philadelphia actor and has worked with companies such as Commonwealth Classics, Renegade Performance Group, and most of all Curio! He hopes to continue his experience teaching with Curio as much as possible.
Ryan Walter is a Vassar College alum with a Bachelors degree in theatre. He is a working actor in the Philadelphia area and has been a part of the Curio Theatre Company since May 2010. He was one of the lead teachers at their summer camp this past season mainly working with the middle group of 10-12 year olds. He also works as an after-school teacher at Friends Select School in center city Philadelphia and has worked as a teaching artist for Plays & Players theatre and the Institute for Arts in Education. He has also worked as a counselor at various summer camps, most prominently at the Adventure Game Theatre. Ryan is hopefully looking forward to graduate school in the next few years where he plans to receive his Masters degree in acting.
