THE MARY ALLEGRA SPOTLIGHT FUND
WHAT IS THE SPOTLIGHT FUND?
In honor of Curio's dear friend and longtime champion, Mary Allegra, the company has created The Spotlight Fund.
This fund serves as a lasting extension of Mary's stunning generosity, progressive vision, and unflagging support for Curio as a former board member and committee chair of fundraising.
2026 brings new challenges. In case you didn't know, the Mary Allegra Spotlight fund is named for the actual spotlight Mary donated to Curio to make our entrance more visible for our patrons on Baltimore Avenue all those years ago.
Today the spotlight itself is in great need of repair, and your donations will not only help with this, but also to Mary's other passion at Curio, education.
Education has been a priority for Curio Theatre Company and Mary since we first started in West Philly 22 years ago, 23 years now for Curio Summer Camp. Every year, we rely on the generous donations of friends of the company to keep our summer theatre programs full and funded.
An important part of our theatre education programs is that Curio welcomes every child, regardless of their financial situation. That means our scholarship program is absolutely vital to all that we do.

"With theatre education we listen, we empathize, we grow. We can’t wait to come together with members of our community to create, play, and connect once again." — Tessa Kuhn, Education Director
